Dr Shirley Grace has over 20 years experience in the development, delivery and management of various types of human services, primarily in mental health, crisis and trauma and corrections, in NSW, New Zealand and the Northern Territory. She is dual qualified as a Social Welfare Worker and Psychologist. Dr Grace has worked in the NGO, Government and Private sectors undertaking various roles including: case worker, counsellor, trainer, group facilitator, university lecturer, manager and executive. Dr Grace now works full-time in private practice in which she provides therapy services, forensic services, professional supervision and training.
Dr Grace is currently a community member of the Charles Darwin Human Research Ethics Committee. She was previously a practitioner member and Deputy Chair of the NT, SA & WA Board of the Psychology Board of Australia as well as a practitioner of the inaugural National Psychology Board of Australia and past Chair of the Psychologist’s Board of the Northern Territory. Dr Grace has also previously held an appointment to the NT Alcohol & Other Drugs Tribunal. Dr Grace is a full member of the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc. (AAPi).
As a provider of therapy services Dr Grace sees individual adults with a broad range of issues and mental health problems, such as depression and anxiety. Dr Grace also provides therapy for those with claims under worker’s compensation and motor vehicle accident insurance. Other therapy services provided includes Employee Assistance Program counselling for employees with either personal or work-related issues and victims of crime.
